Chai Tea Oatmeal Smoothie

Chai Tea Oatmeal Smoothie

Hi all!

So, this past week has been met with WARM weather! Not the normal February weather that I have been used to for the last 9 years. Needless to say I am pretty flippin’ happy that it isn’t 15 degrees and happy so I will definitely take it! That and all the beautiful flowers are blooming and there is no end in site of this gorgeous weather!

Anyways back on topic here…

During the cold season, like everyone, I am obsessed with warm drinks. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate you name it I probably love it. However, as it gets warmer and we are in that limbo stage of coffee sounds good but I don’t want it so hot I like to cool down my drinks (Iced coffee is a frequent flyer here). Sometimes, I even like to mix my normal caffeine intake (which isn’t much y’all) in with my breakfast (or lunch and dinner) smoothies and what better way to do that than with this Chai tea oatmeal smoothie?

YES! Chai Tea oatmeal smoothies are simply amazing! They are perfect to cool down after that morning run (or before to get you going too). Trust me in that one. I make them before going into work and I am not reaching for a snack (all the time) until I get hungry for lunch. See how easy these chai tea oatmeal smoothies are to make below!

Chai Tea Oatmeal Smoothies

1 Cup Chai Tea:

1 Chai Tea Bag (Found Here: )
1/3 cup Boiling Water
1 Cup Almond milk (or any milk you prefer warmed)
1-2 Tbsp Sugar (I use Coconut Palm Sugar)
Dash of Cinnamon
Dash of Ginger
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch Cardamom
1/4 tsp Vanilla

Place 1/3 cup water into a microwave safe mug and let it warm until boiling. About 1 minute 30 seconds. Place your Chai tea bag into the water and let steep for 1-2 minutes. Then and add in your almond milk (warm if you aren’t doing the smoothie), sugar, spices and vanilla into the chai tea and drink! Or place in fridge too cool for the smoothie!

Smoothie

1 Cup Chai tea Cooled (about 10 minutes at least in the fridge best made the night before)
1 banana Frozen
1/4 cup Oats (I use about 3 Tbsp usually)
1 Tbsp Honey (optional)
Protein is powder is optional as well (although vanilla is awesome!)

Throw all of your ingredients into a blender, vitamix or singler serve blender and whirl around until the banana is liquefied and the oats are in small pieces as well. Place into a to go cup or cute little mason jar to take pictures with before you drink to post to instgram. Because that is the cool thing to do.

YYYEEESSSS!

Seriously so EASY! I make my chai tea up the night before and place it in the fridge and let it cool down all night. It seriously makes the chai tea oatmeal smoothie refreshing and the perfect temperature to cool down with. The chai tea oatmeal smoothie is also so delicious you won’t believe that this is a healthy drink to make you feel amazing and full at the same time!

I love sticking my protein powder into the chai tea oatmeal smoothie because it brings out the play of the spices in the chai tea and it is perfect for those that like the extra protein in the morning. You can also use a fresh banana in them and it tastes amazing as well but it won’t be nearly as cold though, however, temperature has nothing to do with this awesome flavors that this chai tea oatmeal smoothie is packing!

What is your favorite drink from Starbucks? Seriously, I don’t care how many words are in the darn thing I want to know! Mine is a Caramel Macchiato  with extra caramel and made with almond milk. I mean seriously, how basic can one get? haha

Deliciously,
Gabby

Raw oats. More fiber and they they give you something to make it a little extra thick.
