Pumpkin Carving Serving Bowls

The opinions of the product are my own and no one else’s. Pumpkin Carving Bowls CV

Hello!

I am so glad you have stopped by on this glorious day as we prepare for Halloween here in Hickory, NC! It has been the perfect weather to be outside with all the leaves and beautiful colors! This weather makes me want to carve pumpkins and eat a whole bunch of  candy corn! However, when we were able to carve our pumpkins it was still cloudy and raining, which was a downfall because we couldn’t be outside but we still had fun nonetheless getting down to business with these pumpkins!

We were fortunate enough to get a hold of some Pumpkin Master’s Pumpkin Carving tools and they were super easy and fun to use! The Jack-o-Ripper Pumpkin Scoop was probably my favorite because it shredded through the pulp with ease! I was pretty surprised and I thought about getting another one because we had to pass it around between 4 people in order to get the job done! However, we were really happy that we did get party carving kit because there were enough scrapers and kid safe knives to go around!

The knives actually worked so much better than the knives you get from your kitchen and the knives never dulled on use either. They did bend though but they were easy to bend back. We also got a pattern carving kit that I really enjoyed! It didn’t take to
o much to use it but I did have to go back through with a pumpkin knife found in the kit in order to get the design popped out correctly but that could have also been from the type of pumpkin I had as well.

Anyways the girls (a generous mother I am friends with let me borrow her daughter and her friend!) and I were
thinking one day what can we do that would go well with food? We thought of these pumpkin Pumpkin Carving 1carving bowl were we set a bowl down into the pumpkin and then fill the bowl with a dip and another bowl inside a pumpkin with some chips or dippers! I thought it was such a nifty little idea that we did 4 of them! The girls of course carved their Halloween pumpkins and they had a blast talking about school, friends and what they still had to do for homework (I didn’t know I was keeping them from homework!).

Instructions for Pumpkin Carving Serving Bowls: IMG_1904

What you will need:
Pumpkin Master’s Pumpkin Carving kit
Jack-O-Ripper Pumpkin Scoop (Not necessary but it helped tremendously!)
a Bowl to use in the pumpkin (make sure it has a lip on top or catch so it doesn’t go down to far into the pumpkin)
Measuring tape a nice sized pumpkin for your bowl.

First choose a bowl you want to use. Then go to a pumpkin patch and get you a nice sized pumpkin that would go IMG_1905IMG_1907

well with your bowl. wash your pumpkin with some water and measure your bowl just under the lip. (mine was 14 IMG_1911inches). Then take the crayon from the carving kit and trace a hole the size of the outside of the bowl around the stem. Use one of the knives in the kit and cut it out Then take your Jack-O-Ripper Scooper and scoop out the seeds and pulp. You can save if you want to toast them up and eat them. Make sure your bowl fits into the pumpkin well. You might have to shave off extra around the hole in order for the bowl to fit better. Then shave the inside with the shaving tool to make it thinner and easier to carve. Do your design in the pumpkin and then soak in clorox water to extend the life of your pumpkin!

These pumpkin are great for a Halloween party for any age! Kids, adults anybody! I am very pleased with the way they turned out! We had so much fun carving pumpkins and throwing pulp at each other that we threw a little party of ourselves with food! We made a pumpkin dip that we placed in the pumpkin bowl along with some ginger snap cookies along with some fun other snacks!

The tools were completely safe for the kids and even younger. They actually worked so much easier for us than the kitchen knife would have been because the Pumpkin Master’s carving knife actually moved better and it was smaller so it would take curves better and it was easier to control for the kids. Even a 5 year old would be okay with it (with supervision of course!).

Oh and if you are interested! Pumpkin Master’s has a pumpkin carving contest every year and the submissions Pumpkin Serving Bowls 2started on October 1 and there are $5000 worth in prizes with 5 different categories of pumpkins! Gabby, these would make a great tablescape for Halloween or just a fall get together! Perfect for the Thanksgiving table too. And the pumpkin dip with the gingersnaps? Perfect! And it looks like you and the girls had a great time!
